Last night we went to the zoo for my dad's company summer party. It was lots of fun! Jack enjoyed it more than any other time he's been. He was actually interested in the animals this time. First we had dinner at a pavilion, and then we got to ride the train for free.
Here we all are on the train. The driver was nice and offered to take our picture. That's my bestest sister Deb in the back, with her "friend" Logan. ; )

When we got to the Cougars, they were pacing all around, and they kept stopping and just staring at Jack. At first I was like, "Jack they like you, they want to eat you!" But then we realized that it wasn't him they liked, but his loves! They must have thought it was a dead animal for dinner or something. So my dad held it out over the smaller fence and they got really excited! Check out those giant paws and those teeth! Yikes!!

Giraffes are so cute! They have the coolest tongues and the most gorgeous eyes. This one was giving us a good show trying to eat these branches.
Later on we got to the lynx's, and decided to try the same thing with them. There were three this time and they went CRAZY! They were growling and snapping at each other, and one of them stuck it's whole arm through the fence and whacked at the loves and almost took my dad's hand off! That's when I said, ok, that's enough. hehe
And of course, Jack loves the big black ball in the entrance. He loves anything with water that he can stick his hands in. He got all wet. Good thing I had an outfit in the car from the other day.
After the zoo, we all went to the gateway to see Bourne Ultimatum. The movie didn't start till 10:30, so we had caramel apples from Rockey Mountain Chocolate (the best!) and sat around chatting. Jack was soooo sleepy, but he wanted to watch the movie so bad. It was funny to watch him fight it. But he eventually fell asleep in grandpa's arms and slept for maybe 20 minutes. Then the movie startled him and he wouldn't stop crying, so I had to just take him home to bed. I probably shouldn't have even tried to take him to such a late movie in the first place. Now I know.
I must say we had quite a fun night. Thanks for inviting us dad, and for taking all these great pictures with my camera! : )

how fun! you all look so great! i haven't seen y'all in, like, forever! those are some great pictures! umm, yeah, bobcats and cougars can be a little scary. give deb and your pa my love! be sure to save some for yourself, too.
